The TV Tower on Alexanderplatz is Berlin’s tallest structure, and its sphere gives a 360-degree view over the whole city. The observation deck and the Sphere restaurant by Tim Raue open from 09:00 to 23:00, and the Sphere Bar from 11:00 (tv-turm.de, 25 Oct 2026). Tickets, with timed slots, start from €20.00; book on tv-turm.de only. The tower has limited accessibility: read the tower’s own notes before you go.
To the west
Below you are the Red Town Hall and the Marx-Engels-Forum, then the Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island. Unter den Linden runs on to the Brandenburg Gate, with the Reichstag dome and the green of the Tiergarten beyond.
To the south
Look for the towers of Potsdamer Platz, the canals of Kreuzberg and, further out, the wide open space of Tempelhofer Feld, the old airport and now one of the largest inner-city parks anywhere.
Go about 30 minutes before sunset and watch the city light up.
To the east
Alexanderplatz lies at your feet, and Karl-Marx-Allee runs east through Friedrichshain towards Lichtenberg.
To the north
The Babylon cinema stands on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, and beyond it the tenement streets of Prenzlauer Berg and the old water tower on Knaackstrasse; on a clear day the Brandenburg forests close the horizon.
Our advice: book the earliest or the sunset slot, and pair your visit with dinner at the Sphere.
