Grunewald, in the south-west, is a district of villas beside a great forest that runs down to the Havel. Further south lie the Wannsee and Peacock Island, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin”.
The forest

Take the S-Bahn to Grunewald or Wannsee and walk.
Peacock Island
The small white castle and the peacocks; a ferry crosses from the mainland.
